Two Hospital Trips (week 9)

I talked with amy about the dead baby deer her dogs accidentally killed and brought to her doorstep and about how my cat got hit by a car. How fragile life is and how easy it leaves and comes. Life’s weird. And hard.
I wrote part of this in my head when I visited the hospital to see Ozi just days after going to a hospital to see my grandfather breathe his last breaths. Life just punches you in the stomach with joy right after you’re already out of breath from seeing someone you love stop breathing. I think all of us were still grieving in that hospital room with Ozi when she opened her eyes. But we were still full of joy. She turns two in November, marking the two years she's been alive and the two years my grandfather has been dead.
